the navigation with numbers is a huge plus (especially for those of us with scroll wheels), but it's true they are late with the desktop view release.. also I am disappointed with lack of RSS recognition/support. If they are wanting to aim more toward true full mobile browsing that is pretty essential. I like that when I am on a site that has it, when I go to bookmark in bbb, it allows me to boomark the RSS feed or just the webpage itself. I'd expect atleast that level of intergration from a new browser coming out.

What I've always liked about Opera Mini 3.0 is the way it cleanly displayed webpages while keeping the load time to a minimum. When I require PC-like-browsing I use bbb set to the IE emulator, though it moves slower. It feels like they are trying to find that balance between 3.0 and bbb's ie mode, but just aren't quite there yet. If they add a few more key features and work through the laggyness/load time, it could be a pretty awesome app.

Press the QW key. The QW and OP keys work as softkeys normally would on other phones.

Among other keybindings on the 8100,

    2, 4, 6, 8 : up, left, down, right
5: Overview mode toggle - useful for quickly navigating around different parts of a page
    1: Webpage specific menu
    [QW]: Left Softkey
    [OP]: Right Softkey
    Space: Hides mouse cursor?
    Enter: Will load a link
Backspace: Will load a link, but I would assume it it is using a different option. Haven't figured it out yet.

    **: Full screen toggle
    * then wait: will show a whole menu of *-based shortcuts
    # then wait: will show a whole menu of #-based shortcuts

    Trackball hints:

The trackball seems to slow down when going over top of a link, that way you are not constantly scrolling past the link you want. I can see the logic here but it's a little too slow.

Near the top of the BBC News site, it took my (large) thumb 13 scrolls to get across the page once horizontally. Further down in a spot with less links, it took only 9. But still thats a lot. This is one place where the Overview mode is nicely appreciated, just click [5] scroll to the spot on the page you want, then click [5] again. It's functional at least.

Also, there doesn't seem to be a quick access to the Forward function. I often hit back on accident, or just decide I really wasn't done with what I was looking at. It is embedded deeply into the menu.

I also wouldn't mind an even smaller font size.

For any of the latest Blackberry's, I would recommend the High memory version. I believe the low version is only for older and less capable phones.

I cannot access very many sites on this. Personally I have never liked Opera and this seems to be pretty much the same as the previous version. It looks exactly the same as well.

Re: Opera Mini 4 Beta Released!

Who got the option to download the High or Low versions? I didn't, it just downloaded and i have plenty of free memory.

Kortanis, that link Ninja gave you is for a current discussion of this app eventhough it started as an update to when the release would occur, but it's cool. i see your point too.
