    Noob question about games...

I am looking at a link that was supplied here. Beside some of the games is ads, what does that mean? I know what trial and beta means but not ads. And what if there is nothing beside it? Is that a full game then?

    This one...I found it...ads means Free Ad-supported.

Also, which file do I download, the jad or jar? or both?

you use your BB's browser and download the jad file, it should tell the BB where the jar file is and do that automatically.

It tells how to do it via your BB or to download to your PC. I would rather do it via my PC so I need both files then?

yes - but to install via PC you need alx/cod files to install them via Application Loader in Desktop Manager, so you will have to find a program to convert the jar/jad files over.

Absolutely easier to do it over your BB's browser.

You can try this also... I haven't done it so cannot vouch for it working or not

    Re: Noob question about games...

Just to clarify, a jar file is a stand alone OTA install file. It will load by itself. The Jad file is the OTA install equivalent of the ALX file. The jad needs to have the associated cod file(s) hosted on the site also. Usually that aren't visible on the site but the jad file will install them. If you try to install a jad file using the link in cliffr's link you will need to load the cod files on the media card also. And I can verify it does work. At least with the jar and jad/cod files I tried.
