New Full Screen Caller PictureID Demo

For the BlackBerry Pearl, Curve and Bold.

May not be 100% compatible with earlier Pearl devices but works. The only known problem is when the caller hangups and the caller screen is not closed. You will have to manually select Ignore the call.

This is a DEMO 7 day version and beta testing will start soon.

Sounds good, once you get the bug fixed, I'll check out the trial. Also, will you update to use .jpg instead of .png files? I would also suggest you allow to put the pictures on the memory card instead of device memory since its very scarce on a BB to being with. I guess this would only be an issue with hundreds of pictures assigned to your address book.

yeah...i'd rather not mess with a format other than .jpg, that's pretty standard, i'm trying to put it on my 8100 to test...but i have no OTA on it (no data plan)...can you also provide a way to install via the desktop manager?

Tried out the demo. Pretty slick. Really nice to have a pic you can actually see! Not very hard to take a pic, resize it to fit your screen (240x260 for my 8130), then save it as a PNG, move it to your BB.

Correction - The PREVIEW looked great when I set it all up for a specific caller. But when the person called me, the pic didn't come up. Oh well.....

you have added a custom pictureID? are you in the US? what is the format of the number shown on the call screen? is the format like 555-123-4567?

if there is no match found then the picture will not show up. even if there is no match pictureID should use the global pictureID pic. just make sure you assign the Global pics.

tried with jpg and it doesnt appear to work as fast as PNG format. i could not get large jpg to work and since pictureID does not resize to fix the screen it doesnt really work well for pics that are larger than the screen size.

For display speed you should format the pic to the screen size.

I added a custom PNG pic. Am in the US. Format was 5551234567, no dashes. I also set up a PNG pic for all calls (global I think it was called) and that didn't work either.
