Hi all.

I have put together a roadmap for our developers to build, as far as I can tell, the worlds first fantasy sports application for mobile devices. As we have received a lot of support from the blackberry community, I would love to open up a discussion around:

• Suggested features
• Willingness to pay?
• What percentage of you are year round sports fans? What sports do you follow most?

I intend to provide the following features across NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, and perhaps even premiership football in the UK:

• Live data, always:
  • Each league would be connected to our content backbone which updates during live events every 15-30 seconds.
  • You would have the ability to customise how often the application updates.
• Research Center:
  • Full statistics, per active player, per team - all sortable by stat type
  • Editorials from experts across each league, from major editors and contributors to newspapers and magazines around the globe.
  • [Where possible] A lineup analyzer helping you make decisions about who to start in positions of multiple options (show past performance data, other variable data, side by side)
• Mobile alerts management:
  • Set SMS or Email alerts that automatically get sent to your BB for multiple types of data (perhaps customizable), such as:
    • End-game alerts (score summary)
    • In Game (goal, homerun, touchdown, injury, red card, etc)

This idea, is separate from all of the above:

• 100% mobile fantasy leagues - no desktop required
  • Conduct live, or semi-live drafts with users around the world
  • Real time chat
  • Fully transactional (trades, drops, adds)
  • Subscribe to multiple "mobile" leagues at once
  • This app would be released supporting Palm, as well as Windows Mobile.

So gang, what do you think? What am I missing? Does any of the above not interest you? If you would pay for an application that does all of the above, what would you expect to pay for it?

Trust me when I say that your feedback here is very important. I am the person responsible for ultimately having this product built.

Sounds like a great idea to me! I think that I would be interested. I follow the NFL/NBA like an average fan would, but I am no slacker to the Fantasy world. This would be cool especially since you wouldn't have to be tied to a desktop to accomplish anything within the league!

I keep up with the following: NBA, WNBA, MLB, NFL (mostly NFC games but I will take AFC too LOL). Mostly Houston or Texas teams but any will do.

Wow...Ok...The thought of mobile fantasy leagues isn't what really surprises me, but actually how in depth you plan on getting with them...Thats quite a feat.

Is this something that would be a seperate fantasy league of its own, or tied into like ESPN or yahoo or whatnot?

What about those of us that golf. I see the four major sports that are ALWAYS covered are there as usual. But I am more than certain there a gang of us golfers on here that do the fantasy golf thing. Also wonder how does yours differ from other leagues? Are there something that I get at the end of the year? Are there any fantasy awards, hall of fame or something that stands out and says that I want to join your league because yours is can compete with some but at the same time better than most. If you are going to ask me to pay.........as we say out here, Jackson what do I get out of this deal. Feel like I am the Sprite guy talking to video gamer after he said "I won Sprite, I won" and he replied with "what did you win?"
I mean Video Gamers now are win 50 stacks ($50,000) so now I have a reason to be a cyber athlete and run over competition like Barry Sanders and knock cats out like Lawrence Taylor

Great Idea, though If you want to corner the European market, definately come out with a Football Game (Soccer)
