So, even if Mobiscope works well for you, you can also help.
Just let us know your webcam model.
You can find manufacturer name on webcam.
If you are not sure about the model, here's how you can find out:
Go to "Control panel" / "Printers and other hardware".
Your webcam will be listed in this section.

I use the Logitech QuickCam 8.0 and it works great with the program.
Needed to get a replacement 8330 Curve again, so I got a New pin and it's in my profile... Got 8330m now!

    SHAPE:

More questions and maybe you guys are working that functionality into your application:

What if I had computer that had or is using a TV Card for surveillance. Here is the scenario:

I have multiple cameras in my store. I have the cameras spliced into a multiplexor with an outgoing feed which connects to a TV Video Card.

Does MobiScope pick up the TV Video Card as a bonafide Video input device (this would allow for a that nice multiview I was asking for)...?

cool app, going to give it a try and check back in.

I know it's still a while to market, but perhaps you could test a few different brand webcams and offer a package deal including a webcam when it goes to market. This way any sample photos you post could be using that cam and people would know what kind of quality to expect. It would also allow app to work with multiple cams, but specifically work its best with ______ brand seeing it would be the endorsed/most tested.

Re: New beta-testing - Mobiscope: Easy Home Surveillance

Got to play around with it. Very smooth start.

    A couple of questions:

-where are the videos stored? (I have it set to record 20s if motion is detected)
-what kind of security is in place to keep others from accessing our cam and your server with our comp name/pw settings we set up?

    Suggestions:

-I didn't notice any alert on desktop to show my bb was connected and viewing my cam. Could there be a log activation we can set on computer to keep track of when and how long cam was accessed for?

-could there be a small status bar be added to desktop that gives things such as "inactive", "active", "being viewed", etc.?

-under connection options can wifi be added and if wifi did become an option, maybe an additional fps settings to take advantage of the higher bandwidth? maybe an extra 5fps setting?

I agree with the email notification when ready to view or have a setting to email
you when the program starts up.

And how about just a stop camera/recording button. When I'm going though the stored
video recordings, the camera is still recording me while I'm looking at the stored videos.

Most likely we will add multi-view, but not sure if in 1.x version.

Mobiscope should work with TV card.
If you could test and let us know about results, it would be great!

We are going to make a list of compatible and incompatible cameras.
But video quality depends not only on webcam model.
It depends on mobile device screen and on connection speed.

    Vicky nee Victoria,

The OTA says its version 1.3. Can you confirm that the latest OTA is indeed 1.4 please?

I am trying to setup that up.... I just gotta figure out how to get internet connectivity for a friend of mine who was willing to loan me his home surveillance system (he is in Afganistan and I am watching his house while he is away).

He has 4 cameras, a multiplexer, and a DVR.... I need to simply get the feed from the multiplexer into the video card and hopefully Mobiscope will pick up the Video card as a camera device.

Your videos are stored on your computer.

All data transferring between remote computer and your Blackberry is strongly encrypted. For data encryption Mobiscope uses 3DES (Triple DES, CBC mode) algorithm with 128-bits key. The 3DES key is randomly generated each time when the new session is started. It guarantees top level data protection. The data can be decrypted only by your Blackberry or remote computer.
Our server cannot decrypt these data and doesn't store your computer accounts. The server's only function is to provide communication channel between your Blackberry and remote computer.
