This is one great App! I have used this application successfully using a BB 8830 and installed the desktop client on one laptop.

Any chance that we could get a multiview (i.e. views from multiple cameras?)?

this is a great idea and an awesome program esp for parents...works great after a few retries...for some reason, the first time, it said unable to connect to mobiscope server, check ur device's network connection...i hit retry and then it said it can't connect to the network and then it connected fine when i hit retry again! i can send the log if u like...lemme know! but it works great so far...thanks for a cool program!

Battery life could be a problem, because Mobiscope generates rather intensive data exchange.
We will see what we can do with this.

We will make Mobiscope Desktop password protected.

Most active beta-testers will be awarded with free licenses.

We will consider making a Mac version of Mobiscope and also of our RDM+ app.

    We will investigate this possibility.
Maybe, not in v.1.x, but I believe it could be possible.

AW: New beta-testing - Mobiscope: Easy Home Surveillance

We are going to create a list of compatible and incompatible webcams.

So, even if Mobiscope works well for you, you can also help.
Just let us know your webcam model.
You can find manufacturer name on webcam.
If you are not sure about the model, here's how you can find out:
Go to "Control panel" / "Printers and other hardware".
Your webcam will be listed in this section.

Re: New beta-testing - Mobiscope: Easy Home Surveillance

    Ok SHAPE

I have gotten some pretty damn good stats .....

On my fully charged 8830 I left mobiscope running for about an hour while I was showing off your app to some friends downtown.....

After an hour I had about 51% battery life left.... HOWEVER given in a typical situation why would you have your blackberry looking at a camera for an hour unless you were a:

    1) Concerned parent
    2) Concerned business owner (thats me)

Overall I think the battery drain is appropriate for the data usage and resources required to run this app....

As for the app performance it is incredible

Here is my network layout in order to provide some good good data for your purposes:

My camera is within my home network sitting behind a NAT router. My laptop is a Sony VAIO with a built in camera. The camera was automatically found by the desktop agent and camera turned on immediately. The Laptop has about 1.5 GB of ram and runs several other extensive applications including Limewire, Barca, Opera, MioNet, and Skype.

At idle the desktop agent only occupies 11k of RAM. When running it goes up abit and uses about 15% CPU utilization (not bad at all)....

The onboard camera is a Sony Visual Communication Camera, nomenclature: VGP-VCC1

    Questions?

On the blackberry I would like to see a means by which I could simply hide the application or switch to another BB application....

I plan on testing the application and its actions when a phone call is received. Will update this afternoon.
