i was browsing this site on my phone last night and i came across a thread. I could've swore i bookmarked it but it not there and everytime i close the browser, my history gets deleted, so i hoping you guys can help me out. Did a search with everything i could think of but it didn't come up. anywho, the thread and app/program had this program you install on windows and it helps delete your PTT, Visual Voice Mail, default themes, etc. i know it isn't much help but that's all i could remember.

There are a few programs that do that. Pete6, a former Crackberry.com moderator wrote a program called Crackmem which does it, BUT he is retired now and no longer supports the program. Another good one is BBSAK, or BlackBerry Swiss Army Knife, just do a google search to find it, it's a free, professional program. I'm sure I've seen Pinstack feature it on the blog page. Another program of note is Lyricadal's Shrink an OS, which is a program, that lets you shrink the OS on your PC, BEFORE you load it on to your device (this is for when you are upgrading your OS on your device).

I use the first two apps to "thin" the OS installs before upgrading and the others are good tools for reading the OS files, wiping, loading .cod files etc.

    Master Control Program -- http://mcpfx.com/download.php

    Shrink-A-OS -- http://www.theiexplorers.com/bb/Shrink-A-OS.rar

BBSAK -- http://rimgeeks.com/viewtopic.php?f=62&t=18 (as mentioned by pkcable)

    Crakutil -- http://forums.crackberry.com/f35/crackutil-85617/

Maxmem -- http://blog.berrycoder.com/ (as mentioned by pdxmatts)

To the OP the one you are talking about is MAXMEM follow the link posted by the previous poster and use it, just be careful, if you use spellcheck or suretype (Storm, Pearl) do not delete TID and you'll be safe

Yea Maxmem is good, and of that lists, it's probably the safest to use. If you don't know what you are doing and you start deleting cods you can nuke your OS. (We can usually get you back up and running, BUT if you don't have recent backups Well you know that old story)

I nuke my OS every few months, but I DO lots of fiddling, and I know what to do to fix it, PLUS I back up daily.

haven't nuked it yet *knock on wood*....trying to make it a habit to back up my files...lol

i'm still a noob to all of this. i have one question, when i used Shrink A OS, it brought my MB down to 52.12mb, i know it took out all the useless stuff, my question is, what does that do exactly? free up app memory or helps make the BB run faster?
