Maybe Someone will know.

I am trying to help a friend find an app that will allow IM via their text service and not a data plan. I know it makes no since to have a BB without a data plan but anyway. I know I have seen posts about such an app but for the life of me can't remember where or what it was called.

Any help in this would be appreciated.

The OZ IM client USED to work via text but it doesn't anymore.

It was pre-loaded on the 8100 that I had before I upgraded to my 8320. That was less than two years ago.

It came on my 8100 also. That's why I thought of it so fast.

Yeah, I used to use OZ Instant Messaging, but that was disabled a looong time ago. That was the only IM application I knew of that used text messaging instead of data and I didn't like it as much as I didn't have unlimited text messaging at the time. Now, it wouldn't bother me as much since I do have it. Hmm, I'm sure there are ones around.

Thanks everyone for the input. I know I just read a post the other day I don't believe it was OZ so maybe someone will come up with it. A data plan would be so much easier....
