Still didnt work on my 8130. Repeatedly asks for permission to lock/unlock each file. Sigh I tried an un/install as well.
    thanks for trying and contribution.
Frankly if can work the bug out of this, you should easily be able to sell it.
I did find occasionally after unlocking, |I had to power down and up the unit|(not a restart|) and the command would take affect. FWIW

The app is working perfect on my device since day one. All it would have to be is the permission setting. Keep playing with that guide i posted and you will get it. I spent two hours on sunday fixing two blackberrys and writing the guide so i know it works

To fix the Repeatedly asks for permission problem, nother poster said to turn your firewall on. this worked for me. It would be better to make one folder on your card that you plan to hide files, then just lock that folder, the app will lock each file in that folder at one time.

The 8130 CDMA comes from the store with the firewall turned off. When it is off, several apps keep asking for permission to locate local content. This happens to every file you want to lock or unlock. If you activate the firewall under options> securityoptions> firewall, then filelock doesn't ask you for permission any longer as long as you have everything set to "allow". Hope this helps. I had this same problem with audible air and several others. This fixed them all.

Thanks to dsump for the info!!!!

Counterintuitive to me, but it worked! Go figure. Thanks for the input, the firewall thing worked. I can lock and unlock folders from my unit now. After unlocking, I have to power the unit off and then on to see the newly unlocked files, but not as time consuming as a reset.
Works great, thanks for your efforts.

    FileLock
    Trouble Shooting Guide

    Q. How does FileLock work?

    A. The FileLock application adds an extension to your personal files. For example:

    Image000014.bmp
    Changed to:
    Image000014.bmp.lck

    Song000014.mp3
    Changed to:
    Song000014.mp3.lck

The .lck extension locks the file from being discovered by the media player or the viewer.

    Q. How do you unlock the files?

    A. This app requires the user to input a password to have the ability to unlock the files from the device.

    Q. How do I recover my files if I forget my password?

    A. There are two ways to do this:
    1. Remove and reinstall the app and set the password again
    2. Plug your device into your PC and rename your files by removing the .lck extensions

    Q. When I input my password and select ok nothing happens, What's wrong?

    A. Typically when you exit the app it stays pointed at the last folder or directory you were looking at, so if you delete that folder or directory then the app becomes stuck. To reslove the problem restore the folder or directory.

    Q. Can I disable the pop up menus I get when I navagate?

    A. At this point there are not settings for this app its pretty basic. So what you see is what you get.

I found the reason everyone is being prompted to lock a file. Its a permission setting. Only do this if your app is installed and is prompting you everytime your lock a file. If you are freshly installing the app for the very first time skip to the vey bottom paragraph

Go to: Options>Advanced Options>Applications>FileLock. You will now be at the File Lock Properties screen.

Hit Menu>Edit Permissions. Here you will need to expand the CONNECTION, INTERACTIONS, USER DATA tabs.

Match the settings to this guide.

    CONNECTIONS: Custom
    USB.................... Allow
    Bluetooth............. Allow
    Phone................. Prompt
    GPS.................... Prompt
    Carrier Internet..... Allow

    INTERACTIONS: Custom
    Interprocess Communtications
    ...........................Allow
    Modify Device Set. Allow
    Module Manage..... Allow
    Keystroke inj......... Deny
    Browser Filt........... Deny
    Theme Data Inj. .....Allow
    Screen Capture...... Deny
    Security Timer R..... Deny

    USER DATA: Allow
    Allow all fields

Note: each device is different so if an option isn't in my guide just allow it.

    Save and exit

Now run the filelock app. Once you start the app you will be prompted at a connection screen. You need to check the FIRST BOX ONLY! then click allow this connection. And it should be fixed. I succesfully did it on a 8310

Does anyone know what the defaults are? I did the changes below and now want to go back but I was too stupid to write down the defaults. Can anyone who did not make those changes look at theirs and tell me?

Match the settings to this guide.

The settings in my post are what they are now, but I had to change several of them when I first received the instructions to have them match the suggestions in the FileLock post. So my post IS what I have and is NOT what it was because I had to change at least 3 of them when I did it.
