    Live-Stream (Free webcam viewer)

    Greetings,

I have come upon a great live-webcam software product that allows you to view your webcam from your cellphone. It is called "LiveStream" and it's awesome.

I found the program on Getjar.com and converted the files to work with blackberries and packaged it for storage. Then I thought, why not share this with everyone. So I then re-packaged it for distribution and uploaded it to Mediafire.

    It is located here: Livestream.zip

    And here: http://www.motofusion.net/Livestream.zip

The zipfile contains the files you need to install the application on your blackberry via Desktop manager, And it also contains the software you need to have on the computer to interface with your webcam.

After installing the software on your blackberry and your computer/laptop you will have to go to the website LiveStream - expanding mobility and register.

After registering, you can then start the software on your computer and select your webcam (Or if you only have one it will select it for you).

Then fire up the software on your blackberry and enter the email address and password that you used to register with. The blackberry software will list all of the available cameras (That are public and listed. Mine is in there too... )

*You also have the option of entering your registration/login info on the website and viewing your webcam from there.*

Select your camera from the list and VIOLA...live webcam feed direct to your blackberry.

And the best thing... ITS FREE!!!

    No problemo.

I forgot to mention that it also STREAMS AUDIO!
You have the option of disabling it as well as capturing the feed and saving it to your hard drive.

Hmm, sounds interesting. I will check this out when I get home.

Can you view stuff like NASA, traffic cams, etc...

    just downloaded OTA
    http://live-stream.net/download/livestream.jar

Also I was able to register directly through the software.

Now just have to figure out how to "add" cams to this.

Looks like a great app! Just installed it, however, if you want the camera to be private, you have to pay for it, otherwise it is public at all times that it is running.

    *EDIT*
Also, really should be a way to see how many people are viewing the camera.

I am having a few errors with uncaught exception: "java.lang.illegalThreadStateException" message coming up I think. Also the audio actually stayed on whilst putting device into standby mode

That is the same error I am getting as well. Anyone tried the file/package from the link that he posted with any different results?

Just downloaded the link that he posted and installed via DM. Loads up just fine with no errors now. Logging in now to test, will post results.

Works perfect! Logged in with no issues, it gave me a list of the public cameras including mine, picked my camera and perfect. no issues at all now.

    *EDIT*

Also a great lil feature I just found messing with it, you can start and stop your camera from within the blackberry app. So you can leave it public, but not broadcasting, and when you need to "check up on things", start the camera, view it, and close it out. Very nice! Wonderful app!

I recompiled the program and posted it in the initial link because all of the .JAR files from the website were corrupted.

The link i posted has everything you will need to install onto your blackberry and/or Computer.
