I downloaded this OTA and it appeared to install correctly but it will never open. Is there something special I need to do for it to work ?

Never mind I just deleted it from the device.

I guess it's got to do with the Provisioning of the device..

here is why i am stating this , I swapped sim cards from my 8700g to my 8320 ( all tmo) I had the software and the service books on my 8700 ( running 4.2 os ) but i was not able to get it to work..

I called Tmo they stated that they had to change some provisioning on my new dev, within an hour they were able to update the dev and now I have a parfect connection of Live messenger , ICP and Yahoo ( i dont use googletalk or AIM ) ..

If i go to the website ( bberry.com/livemessenger ) it still shows that it doesnt allow me to download the software.. yet they came preloaded with my 8320 ..

It's free, and will use your BlackBerry's Internet connection, but you (usually) can't get to it if you're with AT&T. It has no Web installation, but occasionally (and I don't know why) the site won't detect that you're on AT&T and you can install it OTA, but then you need the Service Books which AT&T won't send. See the links for installing the service books for RIM Instant Messengers at the bottom of the list if you get lucky enough to get through!

Know anything about the Facebook app and why/how to get it to actually work?

Installed just fine, but can't get it to connect - tried contacting RIM tech and get an e-mail telling me how to login!

DUH! that's easy if it would actually work!

Well thanks for the heads up sugarspicebaby1! I'm NOT a Facebook kind of person, but I do know it's imensely popular, and now has its own BlackBerry app! By RIM no less!

I actually created an account just to check it out. I'll say this much - it's unique!

The eqo and gizmo apps should be added to the list as they provide decent, free multi-account IM solutions though they are voip providers.
