| IYO: Best Instant Messenger for Blackberry
What is your favorite Instant Messenging program. I am currently a beta tester for yak-on. I have used verichat, the t-mobile client. Verichat was the most stable and had the best features, but I get yak-on for free for beta testing. The features are almost there, but it makes me sign on and off way to many times and sometimes i do not even get a message someone sends me. What are your opinions? |

Although Ramble has its share of problems, it works consistently for me. I've had trouble with almost every other client.

I agree with Gabe. All apps have little things that don't work very well. Ramble has less of those quirks. If you're using AIM Ramble is the only way to go. I used IM+ for a while with yahoo, MSN, google and the others. The only thing I didn't like was how it polled the server rather than delivering the message in real time. |

Everytime I try to log in to Ramble I get "invalid connection string:could not open tunnel-failed" ? So I am just using BB messenger now.

Verichat is my IM tool. It's very good from my standpoint and quite honestly, it's working wonderfully for me without any hitches, disconnects, etc. I haven't really tried anything else but I don't want to drive myself crazy trying to figure out which would be better. LOL.

Yeah I fixed it. I had to change my APN. I listed some settings ,that I used, in another thread.

I have not yet tried IM+. I use verichat and think it is an excellent app. I have not had any issues with it at all.

Maybe I missed something. I have a 7105t and the BB IM client that came with it. I use it for Yahoo and AIM. What features do some of the others offer? Should I even bother? Thanks |

I'd have to go with Ramble for AIM. But really, I love google talk and BB messenger..they're so well integrated with the blackberry-espescially BB messenger. I remember seeing a way to use google talk to access all of your IM services somewhere....I tried it and it had some "interesting" consequences |

I like the freedom to be in all of them at once. Before paying for IM+ or Yak-On, check out Ramble and Google Talk, which are free, and you can use the TMo App for Yahoo or ICQ. Now if you want it all, you will have to buy one. I belive Yak-On is the cheapest with AIM, MSN, and ICQ, for $19.95 and IM+ has ICQ, AIM, MSN, Jabber, Google Talk, and Yahoo, but it is a hefy $44.95. I had some major issues with IM+ at first, but the support was pretty helpful on that count. |
