You would have to delete the Instant Messaging application under Options>Advanced Options>Applications then find Instant Messaging and delete it, and then reboot your BB to complete the uninstall.

Not only yahoo and MSN. With that app it is all or nothing. It is called OZ Instant Messaging. You can delete the whole thing (including AIM & ICQ) or keep it all. You can not just remove the Yahoo or MSN part.

| Re: Instant Messeging Software (IM clients)
ok I downloaded Ramble IM and just have a question I will throw out to you all. I use Verizon and its a cdma network. Ramble installed great but now it seems to communicate with the server constantly and now I miss alot of my calls (they go to voicemail) its like i cant get a call if the program is running. I had Google Talk setup and that worked fine, but ramble ties up the phone alot! Any Ideas or Input..Pin or email jr.corra@vzw.blackberry.net |

I had the same problem when I used Ramble a lot. It doesn't poll a server though so I don't know why it would tie up the data line. It's in a wait state for incoming messages.

FYI for anyone interested, did not see it on here but I could have missed it, Yak-On is a data im provider, not sms. Had to look it up for someone today so I figured I would post it just in case.

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~I know that this is an old thread, sorry for bringing it back. I've been using IM+ on my tmob 8700g and it works really well, it just sucks up lots of battery power and takes forever to load up. I installed the Google Talk for Blackberry client, but it keeps telling me that my username and/or password is incorrect when I go to sign in. I'm tried many times and I definitely have the right info. Has anyone else come across this, and if so, any ideas on what's wrong? Thanks!

Hmmm... I haven't had this problem. You can get logged onto IM+ so you probably have your TCP set up already. Have you tried to remove the program and reinstall just to be sure. You might try another login and password if you have it.

| Re: Instant Messaging Software (IM clients)
Hi, I have read through this topic but haven't really found an answer (could be because it doesn't exist), but I am running a Wildfire server at work (Jabber IM Chat server) and I am looking for a free Jabber client that I can install on my BB so I can stay connected all day. Any ideas or do I just have to shell out the 50 US for IM+? thanks, Andrew |

| IM Through SMS
For those few BB users of us without a data package, is there an application for using AIM through SMS?
