I'm using EQO now for AIM, MSN, Yahoo and Googletalk. It's free if you just want to use the IM features. Uses data and not sms, and it keeps all my IM accounts in one program. In other words it's convenient for me. I personally don't like having a whole bunch of IM clients open for each IM service. Even on my PC I use Trillian to keep it all in one place.

Worth a try if you use IM a lot. www.eqo.com

So that EGO is %100 free for IM, and it completely routes messages through DATA and not SMS network, right?

Has anyone directly compared IM+ and JiveTalk? They appear to be fairly similar but wondered if actual users have some pros/cons that could help enlighten the difference between the two.

I've been using EQO for a while now. It is totally free as long as you only use the IM portion of the program. My only complaint with the program is it will drop the IM connections randomly throughout the day, but for only a few moments at a time. Other than that it runs smoothly, has intuitive controls, and is FREE. Man do I love me some free software.

    Thanks.
I have the BB Pearl (AT&T service) and I downloaded the Yahoo Messenger app from the Blackberry site today

    It didn't work.

So I called up the tech at AT&T and he told me it can work through OZ:

Open MEdia Net Browser (Not the Blackberry one) and go scroll down to "Mail & Messaging".

Then open "Mobile IM" and download "OZ Instant Messaging".

I tried it and it worked but this is SMS only and not data.

    So, I removed it.

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~ I have both Yahoo! and Google Talk, but tend to use Google most. Ironically I have a lot more contacts on Yahoo, but they're rarely ever online.
