Incredibly useful application for anyone willing to jump through hoops

I found an app that was tucked away in some foreign forums. Basically it's called KeyMaster. The program is mapped to your q key (assuming you have dial from homescreen turned off) or to which ever convenience key you want. The program allows you to add any program on your phone and even system functions (you can add custom modules) and map them to any key. For example, you can map 'g' to google maps. All you have to do is press the convenience key or q from homescreen and then g. It opens quickly so you can do the keystrokes very fast. This is a great application you can get for free that allows you to customize launching of applications since rim doesn't allow it from the beginning. The process for getting the app is below:

    1) Go to google and search for www.bbdev.org
    2) The first result is what your looking for, it will be in chinese
    3) Do not click the link, click "translate" on the side to view the site in english
    4) Navigate to the keymaster 1.0.2 application for 4.2+ and download and install
    5) Go back to the website and go to the registration tab
6)Under options in the program, there will be a number you have to enter into this page
    7) An email will be dispatched with the activation code in 1 day, if you don't get it, you can come back 24 hours later and enter in the same number you entered before and it will display the activation code

Hopefully you find this application useful, I most definitely do.

Sounds like a cool app, I won't use it because I dial from the home screen. Good find though. Just curious and off topic do you own a honda? I notice your user name.

Haha, your probably one of the only people that caught my name. Most people think "fireblade" is something out of world of warcraft. I had an cbr 1000 I raced for a while until I highsided at jennings gp and wadded it up. I'm on an 07 r6 now as my race bike. And also, even if you don't dial from homescreen, you can map it to a conveinence key so that you press the convenience key and then it opens so you can use the shortcuts.

Excellent! Works on Curve 8900. A little like "quicklaunch"

    OK - that was interesting!!

I'm all about keeping my screen a free from clutter as I can - which means that I want as few of icons laying around as possible.

I discovered, and have been using the one-touch letters for a good while now.

It'll be nice to have a one-touch for other apps, too!!

My Current key assignments on my 8900:
    A - Contacts / Address Book
    B - Browser
    C - Compose
    D - Memopad
    E - N/A
    F - Profiles
    G - Google Talk
    H - Help
    I - AIM
    J - N/A
    K - Keyboard Lock
    L - Calendar
    M - Messages
    N - BBMessenger
    O - Options
    P - BBNotePad
    Q - KeyMaster
    R - N/A
    S - Search
    T - Tasks
    U - Calculator
    V - Saved Messages
    W - WAP Browser
    X - N/A
    Y - Yahoo Instant Messenger
    Z - N/A

It's going to be nice to fill in some of those N/A's above with shortcuts to PinStack, Viigo, Sudoku, Clock, SMS/MMS messages, Media (I have CaptureIt assigned to left speed key), BBmaps and GoogleMaps, Weather, etc.

Some of the above I don't use - saved messages, AIM, Search, Keyboard Lock (button on top, duh!), Compose, etc.

If this works out, it'll be GREAT!!! Just awaiting activation code.

    Thanks!!

It works well on the bold. That's what I'm using it on. You have to use the translate link on google. That's why you must search for the website on google.

Can anybody host the file elsewhere? I just went through the translated page but was unable to find it.

If you search through Google, when you view the translated page there's a bar at the top that gives you the option to view the page in the original language. Open it in a new tab so you can use the translated page to navigate your way to the download.

What's up with needing an activation code? I dl'd it and it's working fine...?

@ wahtx - lol at your sig, our cars would also stop on the highway for no apparent reason and need to be reformatted!
