One comment on conversations though is scrolling through the conversation is difficult. Either it goes all the way to the top or it skips ove the part of the dialog I want to revisit

We have supposed this to be a feature, but now I see that many beta-testers consider this to be a bug

Our developers have supposed that it will be convenient to go to opened conversations first, and they are on the top.

Some questions from our development team

We would like to receive more feedback from beta-testers about new
functionality.
1. Press&Hold.
You can press and hold trackwheel or trackball in Services, Contacts
or Dialog screen and see list of opened dialogs and quickly switch between them.
Is it convenient?
2. Active notifications.
You can press on pop-up notification and quickly jump into chat.
Do you like this feature?
3. Online alerts & Personal online alerts.
Have you figured out how to configure online alerts and personal
online alerts?
Do you need personal online alerts.
4. Fast scroll to unread messages.
When you scroll up your contact list, you will go to unread messages
first. It allows to open and read this message quickly.
Is it convenient?
Maybe, this feature should be optional?
Or should we get rid of it?
5. Missed event list
Is is convenient? Is it intuitive?
What other events would you like to be displayed in this list?
6. Contact list filter
What about this feature? Do you like it?

Re: IM+ All-in-One Messenger v.5.0 beta-testing

For all the AT&T customers out there having login issues with the current version of IM+ 5.0 beta please make sure your settings are as follows:-

We recommend you to enable TCP/IP on your Blackberry.
Go to Options -> TCP or Tools -> TCP or Options -> Advanced Options -> TCP
You settings should be as following:
APN: wap.cingular
Username: WAP@CINGULARGPRS.COM
Password: CINGULAR1

NOTE: The APN above MUST be lowercase and the Username and Password
above MUST be in ALL CAPS.

Then in IM+ go to Settings / Connection and set this configuation:
TCP/IP
Direct

1. I find this feature rather useful for those people who have one million contacts under different services so just at a glance you can jump right into which ever contact right away rather than scrolling through your massive contact list.

2. I like this feature it is nice to have. Especially if you have a small amount of time to type in.

3. Online alerts and personal alerts are cool. For me I have my bb on vibrate anyways never was too much of a sound fan. I don't need everyone knowing I am chatting especially when I have my superiors around me.

4. I am ok with this but wouldn't active notifications be enough to access a chat quickly. Scrolling and then clicking is taking more time than clicking. Wouldn't you agree?

5. Missed events is rather unique and it would help a lot of users who are on multiple protocols all day along. Sometimes people don't have the time to scroll through 100 or even 400 contacts over 4-5 messaging protocols. With that said it is a good addition to the IM+ feature list.

6. I like this feature because it gives you the option to see either only those online which makes it a little easier if all your contacts aren't online or see all your contacts that are both online and offline.

I would like to see more interaction with offline contacts. Given that MSN allows you to send a email to a offline contact can't AIM, Google and yahoo give us the BB community the same option?

Re: IM+ All-in-One Messenger v.5.0 beta-testing

Testing now on 8300 with Corporate BES.

Instal went okay, also had to escape the first initial setup to get in and setup all my im accounts. Once that was done everything connected fine. I did start to get some ICQ spam and they are staying in my contact list, how do I remove them? Dislikes when I scroll it doesnt stop at the top just continues on.

3. Online alerts & Personal online alerts.

Do you need personal online alerts. going to test them out.

Re: IM+ All-in-One Messenger v.5.0 beta-testing

I am actually very impressed with this up coming version because from since I changed my settings I haven't been disconnected. When I was using the HTTP settings I notice there were a few disconnects over the period of time I had those settings in place. Now though everything is perfect.

My question is this though are only 4.2 os customers experiencing disconnects or could it be their settings? I haven't had one yet and I don't think I will.

Is it convenient? Definitely... Another thing that would be nice is if you can switch between with the trackball and then maybe hit the bb button to close that dialog.
2. Active notifications.
You can press on pop-up notification and quickly jump into chat.
Do you like this feature? Love it...
3. Online alerts & Personal online alerts.
Have you figured out how to configure online alerts and personal
online alerts?nope, my sounds are usually off
Do you need personal online alerts. not i
4. Fast scroll to unread messages.
When you scroll up your contact list, you will go to unread messages
first. It allows to open and read this message quickly.
Is it convenient? very
Maybe, this feature should be optional? yes
Or should we get rid of it? definitely not
5. Missed event list
Is is convenient? Is it intuitive?
What other events would you like to be displayed in this list? I like the missed events list, just wish we could still close the conversations. That is one of my biggest issues.
6. Contact list filter
What about this feature? Do you like it?

Re: IM+ All-in-One Messenger v.5.0 beta-testing

I really have no complaints about any of the features, I like everything really especially number 2 & 3 the notification and alerts.

The only problems I have or found are "the closing of the opened contacts" and "Yahoo disconnects with the ID/password type errors".

I have the Pearl and my connection is more stable with the HTTP setting. Last night everything stayed connected.

This problem doesn't deal with OS version. It is a connectivity problem.

Thank you for your comments!

"the closing of the opened contacts" is fixed already. Beta update is coming soon.
"Yahoo disconnects with the ID/password type errors". This problem requires some more time for investigation.

BETA UPDATE to v.5.0.2

Beta version is updated to 5.0.2.

Here is a link:
http://www.shapeservices.com/im5-bb

OTA download location:
wap.shapeservices.com

In new beta version
1) some small bugs are fixed
2) connectivity is improved. We recommend everybody who has connectivity problems to restart autoconfigurator after update (from Settings / Connection)
3) Notifications adjustment is changed. We believe new "Notifications" section to be more convenient.
