You'd have to use a marker (not recommended!). Only the Pearl had multi-colored LED's (one white, one red, one blue) behind the trackball.

Very true. A little added information as well.

The Pearl (8100 specifically) had multicolored LEDs which lit up the trackball. These LEDs aren't present on any other BB model to day. Therefore, the only way to do it is to either color the white LEDs of the device or color the trackball itself. Neither is a good solution in my eyes.

My gf uses sharpies on all of her BBs. Search around the threads in the 8310 forums and youll find pictures.

you can change the colour of your trackball on your bold, using the sharpie method is okay but eventually the colour will fade. the best way is to open your phone take out the ball and colour it with fabric dye. repeat this step this way you get a nice colour. let it dry for 10 minutes and assemble the phone and youre good to go. i did this to my bold and i love it. the extra time it takes to do this is worth it.
