    Re: Google Maps 2.0.0

How Google Maps kept me from being late to work.

Major wreck on the freeway going to work. Almost bumper to bumper traffic. I wiped out my trusty BB, fired the new Google Maps, which brought up "My Location" automatically. I quickly had it show traffic and noticed the freeway was backed up for a mile. I quickly drove on the berm (shh don't tell anyone) and got off at the next exit a block away. I drove up a mile and got back on the freeway. No traffic at all, it had been totally stopped by the major wreck. Thanks Google Maps, you're awesome.

Woohoo. Love google. Every version gets better and better with them. I have an 8800 but often had trouble finding my location in Seattle with the cloudy skies so this will be a great update. Thanks google!

    Re: Google Maps 2.0.0

Just to clarify, if you have a phone with GPS enabled, like a Curve 8310, does Google Maps automatically use whatever service is optimal? For example, will it use the GPS if appropriate, and the cell tower triangulation when appropriate? Or do we have to indicate which to use?

Is there any way to know which system it is using at any given time?

if u have a gps enabled device, it will always use the gps... (unless of course, gps is turned off) - the cell tower locator functions is for gps-less devices

    Re: Google Maps 2.0.0

I just noticed this, not sure if this has always been there and I'm just blind but...

From your address book you can show the location on GMaps. Nice.

TeleNav offers Drive to, Business Search and Map It form the address book also.

Also, anyone find that the GPS was faster on ver 2.0 than 2.0.1? I feel like my location was more accurate in the last version. .0.1 always uses cell towers first before GPS on my 8310 even though I can easily be located using BBMaps.
