    Advertisement

    Hi,

    I had read a post in a thread which had a statement from booberry1

    which stated that you could use two files which contained the maps information.

    I dont have a over the air connection or any access to the internet from my 7100

    I had download the two files and configured the alx file. Does anyone know where I could download the google map files with the proper alx file?

    or even send it to: tempcell AT gmail DOT com

    thanks

    here is the post from booberry1:

    Google maps .cod files. Found em!

    I don't have a BB data plan so I have to use desktop manager to install maps. If you have the same problem download the 2 Google maps .cod files by going to

    google.com/gmm/apps/v1.4.4/L1/gmaps8700_v4_0_L1.cod
    google.com/gmm/apps/v1.4.4/L1/gmaps8700_v4_0_L1-1.cod

    Make sure to change the Blackbery model number that you want in the URL above. The 8700 model is used above.

    Now for the alx file. Here it is. make sure to turn off word wrap and change the 2 model numbers in the text below to the one you want. Save as gmaps.alx or whatever you want.

    <loader version="1.0">
    <application id="GoogleGMap 7510">
    <name >
    GMaps for BB 7510

    gmaps7510_v4_0_L1-1.cod
    </files>
    </fileset>
    </application>
    </loader>

    Here is my alx file configured with all of the little boxes and spaces

    Don't you have to have an internet connection to use the maps?

    Getting the program is half the battle.... you still need a data connection just download the map to your phone...

    Yes. You need data for the maps. You really need an unlimited data plan because the maps are so huge.

    A berry without a data plan is no fun at all.
