| Free Group Calling Service
Not sure if this is the right place to post... My team is getting ready to launch a free, invite-only beta for our group calling / mobile conference calling service and we'd like to invite the BlackBerry community to participate and provide us feedback when we launch in early September The service works very well with the BlackBerry since it uses Google Talk and Yahoo! Messenger among other IM services to initiate the call. Once the call is initiated you receive a call to any phone number you select, and the service calls the other people you've specified. There is no software to install on your BlackBerry since we're leveraging apps that already exist on most BlackBerry devices, and it also works seamlessly from IM on your desktop. If you would like to be invited to the beta please email us at beta [at] lypp [dot] com. Thanks! Daniel Gibbons Lypp Co-Founder |

We're getting quite a few BlackBerry-related requests. Thanks to the PinStack community for the support so far, and look for the official invite within the next two weeks.

One request: I don't have enough posts to reply to PMs yet, so thanks to the couple of people who've requested the beta via PM. However, it would be easier if requests could be sent to beta@lypp.com. There is a privacy policy on the site, which indicates how we protect / manage your personal information. |

Quick clarification: you don't need to use RIM's own GTalk and Yahoo! clients to use Lypp. Any IM client that supports AIM / iChat / ICQ, GTalk / Jabber, MSN or Yahoo! will work...

this officially rocks the casbah and a half. I have been using Lypp for a week now and what can i say other than wow. Its great, you can initiate the call from PC or BB. I have Lypp added as a buddy on my Gtalk on both. Once you're set up, calling using the service is quick and easy. Dan you are the Man. |

| Re: Free Group Calling Service
Thanks Josh! We opened up the service today for Canadian BlackBerry users at www.lypp.com. Why Canadians? Well, in Canada people are typically paying $0.25 - $0.30 per minute for wireless long distance (yes, we still differentiate between local and LD calls on most Canadian cellphone plans). Also, unlimited incoming calling plans are avaialble with most BlackBerry plans. Combine these two things and Lypp is a no-brainer for one-on-one calls as well as group calling. You can sign up at www.lypp.com as a US user, but in that context it's more appropriate for group calling (unless you have one of the Sprint unlimited incoming plans...). |
