first time using Opera Mini

Saw a screenshot of the opera mini browser ang thought id finally give it a shot. I downloaded version 4 from getjar and I'm not sure how to set it up to start using it. Help?

What model BB do you have? I downloaded Opera Mini to my 8130 OTA and just selected the icon and it worked. I used to have an 8100 on T-Mobile and I do remember having to change a few settings to get Opera to connect.

To get it set up the only thing that you need to do is put in the APN. Go to Option->Advanced Options->TCP->APN. For T-Mobile its wap.voicestream.com. For any other carrier, there is a thread with APNs. Good Luck.

I have an 8100 via AT&T, once the app. was loaded I just went to the icon and it worked like a charm. I wish I could help more, but I promise once you get it going you will love it.

A lot of people race about it and the screen shot looked very cool. I want this to start working so I can experience it first hand. Maybe did I get the wrong version? Someone mentioned they have version 3 on their Pearl and I downloaded version 4. Could that be the reason? Reddog where are you? You got my BB Weather to start working, I'm sure you can help me with this. Unless someone has any other suggestions? Anyone? Please? Help? I wanna be able to start using this by my lunch break

I have Opera Mini 4 working on my Pearl. My suggestion is download it off of Opera Mini's website not some other site. As you might have got a wrong version. Make sure you have the correct TCP settings on your Pearl. APN is wap.voicestream.com and no username or password. I cant see anything else that would throw it off.

Back to work. So far it's okay. I need some getting used to it. I tried checkng out my MySpace profile and I can't see the music video. Is there still no java script encoding for this? Will You Tube work on it?

No theres no flash player. So you cant watch Youtube or any streaming video. Its just a better browser to display certain pages compared to the BB browser. It makes it look like your looking at pages from your desktop.
