    Document To Go

Well I recently saw that dataviz, maker of documents to go for palm devices and other mobile operating systems is finally working on a version of their document, excel, and powerpoint viewers and editors for the blackberry. this is a very good program to use and hopefully won't be as expensive as eoffice, the only other office software that will allow you to edit and view .doc, xls., and ppt. files.

Here is the link, hope it works

i know that the versions for the other mobile devices aren't that much, about $50, instead of the $119 for the basic eoffice, you might not get the wireless hosting with the dataviz version, but with the memory cards available on the new bb's, that might not be needed

Coming soon-i can verify that the road sync app worksd on the 8800 though. I have dataviz on the palm and this is a clean easy to use app. I'm excited. Excellent pc to device sync and worth the money. It will be nice to have an alternative for excel, word, etc.

If they can offer it at under 100 bucks, then that would be great! I have Documents to Go on my Palm and it's a nifty software package

I used to have it on my Palm, and Docs to Go has to be the best MS Doc app out there! I signed up for the email notification, and I hope it comes out soon - I could really benefit from it.

I hope that they offer a "license transfer" type pricing for people that owned it on the Palm Platform and are moving to Blackberry OS.

I had dataviz on my palm too and it worked pretty well. The reason that eoffice is so costly could be due to the lack of such softwares for bb in the market now. Anyway for such an inteface, I wouldn't spent that kind of money for eoffice, I would rather spend more time and hassle and use my desktop instead.

    Re: Document To Go

I got this today from Dataviz:

    Dear Nick,

Thank you for your great interest and feedback! Unfortunately there is still no set release date for Documents To Go for BlackBerry. It has been a long time in development, but we've been hard at work since last year making sure the entire product is ready for 'primetime.' It has been a long, tough road being that this is a different platform than we have ever developed for before. There is a lot to contend with in regards to the devices themselves, server support and different carriers.

I am assuming you are already signed up for our Docs To Go for BlackBerry release notification list. If not, please visit the link below to sign-up:
    http://www.dataviz.com/products/documentstogo/blackberry/signup.html

You will be notified of any news and when the product is actually released.

Thank you for your patience thus far. I hope that this helps you.

    Regards,

    Eric

    Re: Document To Go

DataViz is not a company to ship unfinished product. It may take a while but the finished product will be worth the wait. I have used DtG on the Palm OS since Palm III's and have been very happy with the function, ease of use and support. I expect the pricing will be inline with that of DtG on the other platforms, $50-80 if they offer several packages.
