Do you need to pay $ in order to receive hotmail?

I'm under the impression that you need to upgrade your hotmail for $19.99/month in order for it to work with the BB. Is there another way? I've searched on here but haven't found any answers. Thanks

we had been told that you have to have the paid hotmail acct, but i have had several customers try and fail to get them to work on the bbys. if anyone can tell me how you succeeded, i would love to know. (knowledge is power) if you have a way to get the free hotmail on the bby, that would be fantastic, as my wife has had hers for at least 10 years and is loathe to let it go.

as prev stated if u have an older account they have the axxs enable if you do not, then you are required to pay for them to enable the Hotmail PLUS feature...typical MS BS, charge u for something google and many others give away for free...i don't even undertand why people still use hotmail, thought that died in the 90's

thanks guys. on a side note, lets say you lose your phone. is there a way to stop the email from being sent to your BB from the email service itself? i'd be afraid of people reading my emails

Re: Do you need to pay $ in order to receive hotmail?

I had a similar problem. I figured I would try to get my hotmail into Outlook so I downloaded "Outlook Connector" from MS. This allowed me to get my hotmail/live mail into Outlook. From there I downloaded the RIM mail connector and voila, I get my hotmail into outlook and pushed out through outlook via mail connector to my BB. I did have to fiddle a while to get the mail connector to work. The other option is to set up your hotmail for mobile alerts, that way everytime you get an email at your hotmail address you will get a text message with part of the content of the email. All you have to do then, is access the mobile msn and you can read you email theough the bb web brower. Let me know if this works for you all.

You would need to log into your carriers website and log into the email portion and delete the email accounts out. Unless you are on the BES of course. But if you got your phone stolen i would suspend the entire service till i got a new BB. Once you get a new BB and update the PIN on Rims side the emails flow to the new phone and not the old one any longer.
