Hi, Note, Based in Ireland and my carrier is 02 Ireland. I started using Opera Mini about 3 weeks ago. I like it its a good browser. Was at a PC today clearing my phone bill and I thought Id look a what my bill is this month. It came up at €150 which is about $215 US. WTF im being charged for DATA. I use about 125mb a month and never being charged a penny apart from my €20 a month Blackberry fee. I seem that because I used Opera which i had to set up the APN i am being charged for this. This is a joke. Rang tech support and got no joy with them. Asked if i set up my phone as a modem would i be charged for data use and they said yes. I got the settings for the APN from this site and ask admin if they could put a note beside the 02 Ireland APN that you will be charged for using this outside your normal contract. I am a very angrt bunny at the moment. |

so, you pay €20 a month for the data plan, then o2 charges you data usage for anything that's not using the bb browser? oh, man, i feel for ya. i'd be down at the o2 office with a baseball bat...

No its €20 a month for the unlimited blackberry data plan. I will be sending them a letter stating I want a credit for this. Any program that uses the APN to connect I get charged for. And that sucks. Still up set. So going over to a mates house to get drunk. ~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~ |

did you know that anything that uses an APN you'd get charged for? doesnt sound like best operating practices fora company to me, especially if you've been with them a while.

Didn't know if be charged for using APN. I've being with them over 6 years. Ill be drafting a letter for them on Monday. Have removed Opera and the settings for APN so that should stop these charges. Also found amAze is using APN. It really blows this. Well I'm off to get drunk. |
