Color pearl was one of my favorite apps befor I upgraded to 4.5

Problem: running this program under 4.2.1.96 and when I holster it it stops doing the disco thing and then it stays solid white. And then it just reverts to white.

The original post says for 4.5 os only. Since you are on 4.2 why not just use color pearl? Colorpearl

I recommend Color pearl for 4.2 OS and Blingball for 4.5 cause it the only option

Anyone know if I can transplant the leds from an 8100 to an 8120? That would stoo all is jealous 8120 owners from being mad at the 8100 owners for having the Color leds

Works exactly as advertised, on 4.2 app.

Only thing I miss is it has no 'disable' feature like colourball does, meaning I've got to delete it entirely if I want to get back to normal (to check if colourball is working, for instance).

You can put it on "Custom" and change all values to 0.

I fixed the problem with the trackball reverting to white after going to standby. Turns out that having colorpearl installed at the same time was causing it to revert. After I uninstalled it everything was fine.

Oh man this program is so cool. Ever since I decided to upgrade my pearl, I've missed the colorpearl. But Blingball is the next best thing. Plus the disco ball is just awesome. Each time I use my phone at starbucks, I had some people ask how the heck I did that. Thanks dude.
