Can somebody tell me how to uninstal bb maps? I can't seem to find the app in options. I think it might be conflicting with my tracking software.

    Cyclo,

You do not need an external GPS unit to use BBmaps. You can view maps but it will not give you rough position via phone location. You can view maps for an address you submit. Try going to your address book and choosing view work/home map.

Silly Q - but do I need external GPS via bluetooth to use this software. Can I not just view maps and get rough position via phone location?

    Thanks for any assistance

Cyclo, Just got over this prob myself. Found that if you have diagonal lines and nothing is loading, it might be the fact that your APN data is not filled in with your carrier network info. Try filling that in the TCP settings.

    Hope that helps.

    Re: blackberry maps available OTA

I have a Cingular 7130c and a Holux 236 bluetooth receiver that I use with BB Maps. It works well for a little while, then a window pops up saying that
Communication was lost with the bluetooth receiver. The receiver has a clear shot to the satallites, and is less than three feet from my phone. The bluetooth function is then disabled on my phone requiring a hard reset. After starting everything up again, the GPS works for a while, then the same thing happens again. Has anyone experienced this and found a fix?

I have the same problem as you described, crackberry1. I don't know what is causing it but I would like to point to the bbmaps as the culprit. I use the holux 240 on my palm and it has never had a problem. I have not used a BT headset with my 7130c so I can't tell if it could be a BT driver issue on the unit.

I'm on Orange - my APN is just "internet" without the username and password filled in. Try that. Vodafone might be "internet.vodafone.net". If not call them up and they should give you the APN no prob.

    Hope that helps...

When you deleted the LBS application, did that delete the BB maps?

Question Re: blackberry maps available OTA

It would be nice if someone could figure out how to enable true GPS on the Verizon 7130e phone. From all the forums it definitely seems to be disabled, so is there a solution to turn it on?
