    Blackberry Alerts SMS issue

So I've had Blackberry Alerts since my very first BB which was a Pearl 8100. It's worked very well for me and haven't had very many issues until a few months ago.

All the LED alerts worked great then all of a sudden out the the blue my SMS LED alert defaulted to RED. All my other alerts work except for the SMS one. I've tried all of the trouble shooting tips on their page and still haven't been able to get this to work.

Now I'm just curious is anyone else is having the same issues?

I am having the exact same problem with my 8100. I posted a thread regarding this issue. I didn't realize anyone else was having this problem. I contacted Handango and I will post back when they reply.

Reddog did you notice that on Handango's website it says:
Blackberry Alerts isn't compatible with the 8100.

and they now have a BB Alerts for the Pearl called "Pearl Alerts"....

Not sure if this has anything to do with it..

Oh lauren, there was an variant of BB Alerts it added the option for the 8100 trackball to be the alert status. Yeah Handango is a little behind on things

Anyways, I've been trouble shooting this app and berrybuzz and it guess with Blackberrys you can only have one application listening to the SMS "port" so if you have more that one app the deals with SMS then it will choose one and ignore the other.

Hope that explains it a little better. I'm not sure if I'm making any sense I'm running on only a few hour of sleep.

I'm a little confused. What do you mean by 1 application for SMS?

It has worked fine in the past, and I haven't added anything new to my 8100..

Still haven't heard anything from Handango.

BB Alerts now no longer works at all. Not for SMS, e-mails, missed calls...nothing.

oh, handango may take a while...

I just emailed the developer. I kinda gave up though, just bought berrybuzz for 50% off.

Another reason I gave up was I didn't seem like the developer was going to put out and updates. Berrybuzz they've been working with the stacks since they put out the application and already released a few updates. Great customer support

I think I missed the 50% off for Berrybuzz It says March 3rd.

    Are you liking the application?
If you switch Blackberries do you have to purchase the software again?

Yeah, I do like it, little more customization.

I did get a reply from BB Alerts though. They are working on a new version so I'm not sure when it will be out.

If you switch you usually don't need to buy it again. Most places if you send an email to support they will send you a new activation code.
