What do you need in a new one that the built in one doesn't do?

i wouldn't think any 3rd party app would be"more reliable" than the BB alarm. i would only go with 3rd party if i wanted more features.

I use my blackberry alarm to get up early to take gf to work, and to get me up in the afternoon for my overnight job. Never had a more reliable alarm.
Didn't go off once, she was late for work. I sleepily set it for pm.

Only reason for a 3rd party would be multiple alarms. Found I had grown so used to setting twice a day that I never used it.

It used to work flawlessly with OS 4.2, but I don't think the code has been resigned since OS 4.5 and up came out. You can try enabling your firewall. Then the first time you run it you'll have to verify a few prompts. That's worked for some people. For me it got rid of a lot of the permission prompts, but unfortunately threw a different error making it unuseable (too bad since in addition to having 6 alarms you could also set the days for it to go off individually - ideal for anyone that doesn't work the standard mon-fri work week).

We may want to see if ilhurtado can address these issues with the myalarm app.
Here is the original myalarm thread.

I checked his posts and he hasn't been active for almost a year. Although this doesn't mean he isn't still reachable via PM perhaps. A successful update for more recent OS versions would be awesome.
