    Blackberry 8310 Pedometer Application

    Hi,

Does anyone know if one of these exists? I do not have a data plan, so I was wondering if there was something that we could download that works like the ones you see on the Sony Ericsson W580i and other models.

Also, I would prefer if we could download this app via the desktop manager.

Does anyone know of such an app that exists?

There is one for the Iphone because it has a motion sensor in it. There is an app for it to use as a level. Thats how they work by sensing the shift in motion. There are sport gps software to use when you are hiking or biking.

you will definately have to have a data plan for the map downloads and for to update the maps and such as you go.

does your BB have a gps? my tracks works better with the built in gps. you can triangulate with the cell phone towers when your driving. but for hiking and biking not sure how well it works.

Yes, I have an unlocked 8310 on TMO (an 8900 is in the mail). I've tried to d/l My Tracks OTA with no luck, so I'm thinking it's only for the Android...

I believe if your using an 8310 some of the free GPS apps will give you an acceptable pedometer. You can find several free apps here on Pinstack.
    Good Luck

if it's an OTA it will. Some mapping will require data plans also. BB maps does because as you drive it downloads updated map info.

Try a free app called Speedometer. Its ad supported, but you'll learn to close the browser fast and proceed. ~via smartphone~
