uTorrent (http://www.utorrent.com) has a web client built into the newest betas. It lets your computer run a mini-webserver, and puts a manager interface on it. That way you can visit the webpage running off your computer, and manage your downloads from anywhere. Its like a remote control for uTorrent.

I haven't tried it yet, but if the interface is usable by the blackberry browser or opera mini, then you could manage your home downloads from anywhere using the blackberry, even adding new torrents and such. Of course it wouldn't download TO the blackberry, but I think thats of limited use anyway (especially since most torrents are .rar'd or .zip'd).

Just an update, utorrent's webui requires lots of ajax, meaning it won't work on bb.
There is a mobile friendly version coming someday.

Opera client won't work. The torrent client is built into the desktop client. Opera mini is a completely different product.

So no torrent option right now.

    Question Re: Bit-Torrent for BlackBerry?

Has anyone tried bitlet dot org (sorry I am told I can't post URLs)? It says you just have to paste in the torrent metafile URL and away you go. When I tried it, it said the browser does not have a Java plug-in. Perhaps one of you is more knowledgeable on how to make this work?

it would take a week to download a file... and cripple your device for other activity while it's downloading and uploading...

This isn't WM, lol. Everyone's energy is better spent looking for the best app to remotely control your computer.

Opera and something like http://www.torrelay.com perhaps...

Hope you have a truly unlimited data plan. Even the so called Verizon unlimited consumer plan is really capped at 5 gigs a month I think it is. After that, you pay booku bucks.

Sadly utorrent webui doesn't work. If only coding for blackberry was more popular :/ A standalone App could probably be made to still work with utorrent.

Get ready to be very jealous of Android users.

phidauex, Utorrent is the best out there!
Tiny foot print, fast, free, no adware/spyware that comes with it.
You can and will eventually download the bad stuff from other sites, but never from Utorrent.
