7.7 is the first version that I have been able to get it to work on my vista ultimate. The initial sync took some time my pst file is lg. Everything seems to be working just fine. A couple of minor issues with the GUI I emailed pictures to the support address. Also I noticed that the contacts are not updated every sync for some reason they take longer to update. I also made a recommendation for implementing syncing profile (sync every x minutes during one period and y minutes for everything outside that period).

Hi BB8800, can you let me know what approx count of contacts, notes, etc that you had and how long the initial sync was. Thanks

FYI I have about 600 contacts, 30 notes, 40 Tasks and just a few Calendar items. The Initial Sync takes me around 6-8 minutes (USB online mode) and the offline mode takes about 5 minutes.

I will take a look at the Contact sync to see if we can determine why it seems to take longer. In theory any and all changes go in a queue and its FIFO - first in first out.

I wanted to give a bit of advice in case you get everything working and start to see duplicates of tasks, notes, etc - the reason is that the initial sync is not correct. The best way to resolve it without going in loops is as follows:

    1. uninstall device BBerrySync software
    2. exit pc BBerrySync software
    3. delete all the dupes on your device
    4. do one last Desktop Manager sync to make sure that both your device and pc are identical
    5. install device BBerrySync software
    6. start PC BBerrySync software
    7. complete Initial Sync.

That should fix your situation of having duplicates.

Re: BBerrySync - Full 2 way OTA Sync for BlackBerry with MS Outlook - BIS Users

I would like to publically respond to a PM sent my a forum member concerned about data security. There are two parts if you will to the data housed on our servers.

    1. Is the account/customer information like name, address, email and PIN number. We do not require extensive information. We are also going to have Paypal as a pay option so would not need you to provide payment information. In any case, we have the security in place to protect this data.

    2. This is the sync data. I would like everyone to understand that our Sync Server is basically a handshake server - meaning that once it sync's the data, ONLY the ID number of the item (that contact or email or task, etc) is stored on the server. The content is purged once the "handshake" is made. The initial sync data that you send is only used to map the IDs of your data, NONE of the details are stored. These IDs are stored in case you want to delete something that is on your device, we know what do delete on your PC. So for example, if you created a new contact on your device, all the contact details are sync'd with the Data Server. Once that data is sync'd with your PC, all the content data is purged from the system and the ID's are stored in our database. Please note that connections from the device and server and PC to data server are encrypted.

Nonetheless, we have the security in place to protect your data that is in the queue waiting for the "handshake".

I hope that answers it for folks who were wondering. Thanks.

I have 577 contacts, 16 tasks (just cleaned them), 643 appointments. I am not syncing notes or mail. The initial sync took about 5-6 minutes which is not a problem, the slow subsequent contact sync is the annoying. I created a contact on the bb named it tes bb, it took almost an hour to appear on my outlook even though several synch took place, then i deleted the contact in outlook yesterday but it is still on my BB.

Re: BBerrySync - Full 2 way OTA Sync for BlackBerry with MS Outlook - BIS Users

Ok...I must be doing something wrong. I tried the Initial Sync with .76, and it didn't work. I upgraded to .77, and I still can't get the Initial Sync to work.

I configured the BB for USB sync on the BB. I then chose "Initial Sync" on the BB - and it says "Waiting for PC Connection". On the PC, I chose Initial Sync, and then USB. It says "Retrieving BB Device Data" for about 6-7 minutes. After that is complete, it says "Click Next to Upload Initial Sync", and I do so. I then finish the wizard. It seems as everything is done - but on the BB, it still just says "Waiting for PC Connection".

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. If I attempt to do another Initial Sync, on the PC, I get the message "Can not access your Handheld Device. Please turn on BBerrySync Application Device and check your USB cable." The BB is connected via USB.

What am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance.

tecrishon - you may want to try the offline initial sync - data mapping process and let me know how that goes for you. thanks.

Is anyone else having problems with their LED coverage indicator not coming back on after the sync runs? For me, it will remain off (even if it is set to on in screen/keyboard) until i receive a message. from then on it will blink red as usual, if i read the messages before sync runs again it will change to green. if i do not read the message before sync runs it will be off. kind of confusing but i hope everyone can follow...

Recurring problems are a definite problem. Say you have a recurring meeting every friday at 8, then you wanted to changed just one occurance if the meeting, if you do that either in outlook or on the bb the changed is not sync'd to the side that was not changed even after several sync cycles. Could anyone else confirm this?

    Josh,
I believe I was one of first ten to pm you requesting to participate in the beta but still waiting for a coupon code. Maybe you missed my pm's, decided against letting me participate or should I take it that I missed it?

We still be interested in trying the beta.

    Thanks!
