| BB weather
Hi, I loaded BB weather on my 8700g. When I tried to open the application i get the error the no profiles were loaded. I then went to the option screen and it asks for the location ID(i have no clue what that is).....so I try to get out of the appl and it freezes the device. I shut it down and when I turned it back on the appl would not open..... Anyone have any thoughts???? Thanks in advance |

| Re: BB weather
I remember this happening to me when I first loaded that app. The location ID is the zip code of the area you want the weather for. You can add a name there in the description line. And yes, the program can act pretty badly until one is entered. I think I uninstalled it then added again, but that was a long time ago, and there must be a better way by now. ~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~ |

| Re: BB weather
If you get an error when loading the zip code you can always put the location id like it is asking for, which a code that is specific for a certain area. For example, go to weather.yahoo.com and type in your city, and in the url of that site you will see a series of letters then numbers. Example...http://weather.yahoo.com/forecast/USPA1276.html , this is the code for Philadelphia... USPA1276

I wanted to say thank you to both DCookSta and racinrocker. I have always tried to put in the zip or city and state in BB Weather and never had any success. Today I finally tried again and they both work. Thank you guys, its always good to have a different ways of doing something. As for duece, ty to uninstall the BB Weather app, and reinstall it. You should be fine once you enter any of the following, location id, city, state or zip. Good luck. |

Go into BB Weather, click the trackwheel and choose options. Scroll down to disable mds proxy and click the trackwheel again and change option, and save.

Thanks, but now it looks like our IT department is blocking the app with the firewall. Damn-it Jim....

The firewall message could be due to your BB being on, or previously being on a BES, where there were restrictions on what you could download. Is that possible? |

I don't think so, I bought it new, was still wrapped in plastic. Never know though. I looked, and there's nothing on the box that says "refurb" or the like |
