    BB Alerts Question

I'm struggling to figure out how BB Alerts functions. I'm trying to set it up so that I receive only different colored LEDs for missed calls and voice mails. I don't want any tones, rings or vibrations. The how-to on this app seems to be scattered over a few places on the web, and the explanations are not very clear. Can anyone explain how to set this up? Can't seem to get the LED different colors to function, even with "Program Controls LED" selected.
My phone is a Curve 8310/AT&T.
    Thanks in advance.

To make it do LED only, go to Profiles>Advanced>active profile>BB Alerts and change the tone to none.....that will eliminate vibrations and noise alerts.

When you tell it to alert you on voicemail then save, a box pops up saying it does not work on every device or every carrier.....for me it doesn't. I have an 8130 on Alltel....instead, when I get a voicemail my carrier sends my phone a text so I have text alerts set up. You just have to play around with it a bit.

Here are my settings in BB Alerts: In options I have notify on missed call, sms, email, pin, and voicemail(even though it doesn't do anything) "checked"

    Audio type: Profile
    Alert repeat frequency: 1 minute
    Color scheme: user assigned

    Program controls LED checked
    Enable alert logging checked

In assign colors, each has a different color

LED flash on and flash off: set to 1 second
    LED Pause time: no pause
    LED color mode: color cycle

Try duplicating these settings and see if it works for you. If not, remove then reinstall the program and reboot your BB and see if that helps.

I just installed this program today. It's not exactly the easiest to understand.

I believe I have mine setup to do exactly what you want and here are my settings:
Under BlackBerry Alerts -> Options --
    - Audio Type: Silent
    - Alert Repeat Frequency: 1 minute (shouldn't matter in silent mode)
    - Color Scheme: User Assigned
    - All notifications checked (for at&t, the voice mail works fine)
    - Vibrate on Alert: Not Checked
    - Program controls LED: Checked
    - Ignore unknown callers: Checked (don't want alerts for unknown calls)
    - Mark Calls Read/Opened: Unchecked (not sure what this does)

Then, in BlackBerry Alerts Color Mappings I have everything set to different colors with flash on = 1 and flash off = 1 with no pause.

Good luck and let me know if I can help with more!

So far, I've really enjoyed my trial (had it about a day) except there are a couple really annoying things. For instance, when I move the trackball (such as unholstering my berry), the alerts stop. I would prefer if they would alert until I actually open the e-mail or view the call. Other than that, it's a neat little program.
    As always, just my opinion...

mjwood0, I get the same problem, sometimes BBAlerts has the LED continue blinking until the message is already read, or sometimes it will stop blinking by just touching the trackball....I don't understand it either, very inconsistent , and I didn't like that

Other than that, I like it

Ya... the issue is seriously keeping me from being sure of buying it. Other than that, it's great, but I don't want to loose the blinking when I pull it out of my holster. Really defeats the point to me.

mjwood0 and beeshabo - I tried your suggestions and also deleted and reinstalled the app, but cannot get LED- only alerts. Not sure what the problem is. I've got the settings correct, so I'll keep playing around with it.
    Thanks

    Hmmm...IDK Why you're LED won't work!

    Check these!!
    Options>Screen/Keyboard>LED Coverage Indicator - OFF
Profiles>Advanced - Make sure each profile has the Repeat Notification to - NONE (Not LED Flashing) for each option/message or alert folder

I just tried messing with that too, I had all of my repeat notifications set to LED Flashing and they work fine, I get my different color LED from BB Alerts......I tried changing one to none to see if it would make a difference, but it didn't, it still flashed, whether it was set either way didn't matter on mine.........I'm stumped.....

Very odd. The more I use this app, the stronger my feelings get. I am really starting to LOVE the different colored LEDs for notification. But I'm really starting to HATE that they don't continue until I actually check the missed event.

I think when my trial expires I may go ahead and remove it... Sad. I want the scheduling (my wife hates it when my bb blinks at night) and the color choices but I find it really doesn't do me much good since they disappear before I can actually check things out.

Yeah.....but if it's just the trial, maybe the full version will allow the LED to continue blinking until you check the event (maybe)

Try contacting the developer and see what they say!
