    battery pull program for 8330?

one thing i loved about my 8100 was that there was a program to do a battery pull without actually pulling the battery. i think it's called SoftReset(?)

anything like that for the 8330 or is it the same? i tried installing it but no success.

Goto www.geekandproud.net and look under the blackberry section. There is the "softreset" program. I just got it for my 8830 and it works great!!!

You know you can just HOLD down ALT+CAP(right button)+DEL and that will reset your 8330. No need to add an application to take up space

Just hold down the left ALT key, the right CAPS lock...aA(up arrow) key, and then push DEL and it will reset your phone just like pulling the battery.

The "softreset" program actuall does the same thing as a battery pull......the title is a little misleading.....

But the button combination Reddog and myself described above takes care of the problem and doesn't require adding another program to your BB.

But you don't need to have the 3rd party app on the device, when you can just HOLD the buttons down.

Its not the same thing...when you do a battery pull you actually clear all kinds of temp files and restore any leaked memory....this program let's you do that without actually pulling the battery

"KalebsDad78" there is a differance between a "hard" reset and a "soft" reset. It is true that you can do a "soft" restet buy hitting the control alt and delete keys......but until now the only wa to do a "hard" reset was to pull the Battery......that is until this program came out which does a "hard" reset without pulling the battery

    Hope that clears any confusion.

I understand the difference. The OP asked about a soft reset. The button combination does that and you do not need a program.

But the original question was " one thing i loved about my 8100 was that there was a program to do a battery pull without actually pulling the battery" that is not accomplished by the three button combo. It can be accomplished by the 3rd party app.

Sorry about the debate...;ust want to be sure we are clear in our intentions.

On the newer Qwerty Devices, the Alt+Cap+Del actually does the same as the Battery Pull. The Proof is the fact that it causes the Security Checks to run, and the Memory is freed up, which didn't always happen on the older devices.

I have a newer 8830 and I can tell you from experience that the three finger method DOES NOT do the same as a battery pull.
