Question Anyone using Mobipocket 6.0 Beta ?

Any stackers using this download ? It claims that you can store books on your 8100 Micro SD card. Maybe this could be used to store other info on the card apart from music and video ?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

    Gazar.

If you go to www.mobipocket.com "Try mobipocket 6.0 Beta" is an option under the register now heading.

I am currently in a "No signal area" or I would try it myself.

Re: Anyone using Mobipocket 6.0 Beta ?

The new beta version allows you to download books OTA, instead of by usb cable. It will not work for anything other than ebooks.I've used this app since I've had my Pearl. First by usb cable, and now strictly OTA. I think it's one of the best free apps available. When more ebookstores come online with it, it will be fabulous. Currently, the Mobipocket eBookStore is the only one fully supported. Although you can buy books from other ebookstores, they don't all support the new beta version. There is a forum at Mobipocket where you can find answers to almost any problem you might have. ~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~

I like it. It works great on the pearl. If anyone is interested you can get free ebooks from the website. You just have to snyc it via usb. There are some really great titles to choose from.

yea, I have been using it for a few months now. make sure mass storage mode is tuned off when you sync your library on your computer and the pearl. otherwise it won't recognize the media card installed. took me a while to figure it out at the beginning. i was a big noob back then

What if your phone doesn't support media cards. How else would you get your own ebooks on there?

If you do not have a media card then it will store it on your BB's memory.

it really depends on the size of your original ebook. for example, I have the book "the world is flat" in PDF on my computer takes 13MB. after i transferred it to my pearl on the SD card, it only takes 1.1MB. because I think when you copy your original PDF into the mobipocket reader, the program changes the format of your file.
