    I have tested MANY of the antivirus programs and the best one that I found is called:
    Avast! Home edition. It is free, you just have to use your email to activate it.

    Yeah, you have to register for free, but avast: Home Edition is by far the best anti-virus I've ever used, and it's available for just about every operating system you can name, including some "mobile" operating systems (sadly there's no BlackBerry OS support at this stage...)!

    Kaperskey's not as easy to use, but it's supposed to easy on system resources and VERY, VERY thourough!

    although anti virus for bb may become necessary one day soon, especially with all the 3rd party software coming out nowadays...

    I use a combo of Anti-Vir (http://www.free-av.com) and ThreatFire (http://www.threatfire.com).

    Anti-Vir is your standard Anti-Virus package (with signature updates, etc). ThreatFire picks up on suspicious activities being performed by a potential virus, rather than rely on a signature file that may be out-dated. With both running, I've had Anti-Vir pick up things ThreatFire didn't and ThreatFire pick up things Anti-Vir didn't. And I've never *knock on wood* had a false positive.
