    AIM Help Please

Hi, I have the BB8100 and I downloaded the OZ Instant Messaging. When I try to sign no AIM or MSN it goes up to 80% then says "Communication error. Please try again later or check your settings." Any ideas??

Try a battery pull and see if that helps. Oz can be pretty buggy at times. Also try jivetalk. It uses data which will save you on sms charges. ~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~

I agree! I liked the OZmessenger for a moment 'til I found out it was using the sms plan.... I switched to JiveTalk and never looked back....... BEST IM app ever.........

Ramle is GREAT! I used it when I had a Cingular 8100. It's not expensive and it works just like all the others do. I prefer RambleIM, since I have first hand experience with using AIM on it.

try rebooting your software and try it again.
sometimes it does that because some traffic interfered.
try pulling out the battery and reloading it. if that doesn't work
delete the oz instant messenger and try it again i think that would work for you. sometimes software bugs out.

Jive talk Uses data not SMS. Another issues with OZ is that if you have over 30 People on your buddies list this can cause the program to lockup at 80%, you would have to thin out your mobile list for AIM. this tends to work. I have switched to Jive talk though, you can be singed in to more then one at a time, you can have multiple names for the same program, I have 3 AIM names. and can be on all those at onece plus MSN yahoo and ICQ this you can't do with OZ. I personaly have not tried Ramble. I hope this helps.!

    I don't think it'll work without a data plan. ~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~

OZ requires data plan as well, unless I am mistaken. It uses data to do authentication.

Use WebMessenger. It's free and works fantastically well. The interface is super easy to use as well.
