Anyone have accurate information on how much longer the Bold 9000 will be carried by AT&T?

I've read conflicting reports about it.

One version, is now that the Curve 8900 v.2.0 is out (think shrunken Bold 9700) the Bold 9000 will slowly be phased out.

The other version, is the Bold 9000 will be kept in the lineup for those who prefer the spacious keyboard, larger screen and device size.

OK. I call AT&T and ask in my nicest tone of voice for an early upgrade. To my utter amazement, the kind gentleman looked at my account-4 lines, five years and granted me an early upgrade with no hesitation. Im stoked-I order the new 9700. Ooops, its not in their system yet-cant order through them. Its being released to retail stores tomorrow. So the rep puts a note in my my account granting an early upgrade and suggests I call my local AT&T store and reserve one. Great, Im stoked again. I call the local store and talk to the rep and tell her what has transpired and could she hold me one till I get off work? She has to ask her supervisor-great. She gets back on and says that they cant do that because I dont me one of their "criterion":e.g. "I havent even had the Bold I got with my last upgrade a year yet". I said I know, thats why I requested and was granted an early upgrade. So she then informed me that the local stores are not bound by what decisions were made by AT&Ts online entity. Whatever, I thought AT&T was AT&T. I guess I was mistaken. LOL. So I will continue to call AT&T daily and have them overnight me one when it becomes available. Sorry for the long post, I just thought you guys would get a kick out of it. Oh yeah, the guy I initially talke to is even going to waive the shipping for me.

I downloaded the new OS the other day, and I can't see much improvement yet over the last one. The one thing that I did notice is that I can't launch the WAP browser with the "W" shortcut from the home screen. Both browsers (WAP and BlackBerry) are there, and I can use the icons to launch each one. But I was keeping them both hidden, and using shortcuts when I needed them.

If I press "B", it appears to launch whatever browser I used most recently. Is this a quirk of the new OS, or do I need to reload it because something is wrong? I downloaded it using "Wireless Update".

I switched from a personal account to a business account with AT&T about a year ago and frankly, I still have no idea what advantage this has given me with regard to service, upgrades, etc.

For instance, every time I go out on the Business Care web site, it tells me I am not eligible for any upgrades. I thought business accounts got two upgrades per year per line? I was also under the impression I received a discount on my service, but I don't see that reflected anywhere on my monthly bill.

Are there any PinStack members who are Premier CSRs? I would like a good account rep to talk to and handle my account for me with regard to the above.

Thanks in advance......

Roger

Hello. I have a few questions regarding the above but cannot seem to find the correct answer, unfortunately At&T has not provided any correct advice or direction. I am currently using an iPhone 3G but also have a Blackberry Curve 8320 with WiFi connection. I want to switch phones at will. I know that I can insert the iPhone SIM card into the Curve and most everything works with the exception of email and voice mail.
1) Is it better for me to activate the SIM card for the Curve and get the most out of it or leave the iPhone active and give up email and voice mail on my Curve?
2) Will the email work on my iPhone with a network connection without a data plan?
Can someone please point me in the right direction or at least give me some helpful advice?
Thanks...eagerly waiting!!!
