My friend just gave me her old 8830 World edition. I am a boost Mobile customer and would like to switch over my plan to use this new Black Berry - I know not all of the functionality will be there, I am ok with just talk and text. I have seen some posts online alluding to the fact that this is possible, but not any step-by-step instructions on how to do this. Anyone?

I know this is an old issue, but I rec'd a replacement blackberry 8830 a couple of days ago. Besides it now bearing the Verizon logo, I now have documents to go, but do not have MMS capabilities anymore. Is there anyway I can get it back or is this the norm? Can someone lead me in the right direction or tell me the right forum this was covered under. Thanks, BIGGP

Hello Everyone, BIGGP Here, Yet Another BLackBerry 8830 bit the dust last night!!!!!! I was downloading the Blackberry App World. Then, I was in the process of downloading the PBA Bowling Game when the all to familiar spinning hourglass reared its ugly head. After approx. five to ten minutes of watching and waiting, i decided to do a battery pull. Well, when i did that, my phone will not power back up. All it does is flash red in sequence of 4 flashes about 1.5 seconds apart. The thing is, i just got this phone as an insurance replacement a few months ago. Is there a warranty on replacement pohones? Somebody, Anybody please help me. Thanks for looking, Anthony

My 8830we has been locking up consistently and needed at battery pull 5x a day since friday and I got tired of it and reloaded 1hr ago but I noticed that after trying to reinstall my msn messenger that the system locked up and needed a battery pull so I did when the o/s came on it had 2 of everything and the phone just kept locking up when accessing the bb app world so common sense says delete the app world right? Wrong! that is when the whole bb locked up and would not shut off even after a battery pull and it is not connected to a external power source at all mind you....So now I am reloading it again for the 2nd time today....Maybe it is time to get a tour and get it over with...what do you all think?

How to get Sprint TV on your Blackberry 8830 World Edition:

Note: Your Blackberry OS must be upgraded from 4.2 to 4.5
input this address into your mobile browser, then click OK to download Sprint TV.

this version of Sprint TV is made for the Blackberry Curve 8330, but as long as you upgraded your OS to 4.5, it will work. Sprint never developed a version of Sprint TV specifically for the 8830, but it works.
