Good morning, techies.....

Recently upgraded my Dell XPS M1530 to Windows 7 (not sure if this is relevant or not, but might be a BIOS thing). Also, just yesterday I replaced the 17 month old battery and let it charge overnight, however the laptop will not power on with the new battery. AC, no problem.

According to the battery reseller, this could be a BIOS issue. According to Dell, I have the latest BIOS for my previous OS (Vista Home Premium), but I'm not sure if the BIOS needs updating for Windows 7 to get this new battery to work.

Any ideas/suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks,
Roger

Anyone planing on jumping on Windows 7? I'm due for my 2yr notebook upgrade. Going from Lenovo/IBM Thinkpad T60 to the Thinkpad T410s which launches in Jan/Feb and I'm pretty sure Win 7 will be pre-installed. (Had the T40p before that). LOVE Thinkpads! :)

I had Vista and downgraded to XP (current on all PC's). Vista was too big of a pain and a bad concept overall to ever be improved upon. It does seems that with Windows 7 they listened to the complaints and I'm feeling a lot better about this OS from reading around the web. Seems like the groud up is a lot differn't, eh more smartphone-like if you like. jk ;)
