Slide your device into the case, where it's held tightly on both sides with the brushed suede interior. When the case is open as pictured above right, the flap makes it a little awkward to type on the device, so you have to find a comfortable way to hold the device. I ended up putting my little finger under the device in front of the flip cover, which seemed to work okay.
Once the device is in the case, it basically "snaps" closed with a latch that goes over the top of the device, holding everything securely in place. As you see from the pictures above (and please excuse the sub par quality of the photos.....somebody really needs to recommend a high quality point and shoot camera to me!
) the power button and headphone port remain free and open.Side view shots show the volume and silencer button remain accessible as well.
Front and back shots show you that the camera also remains available so that when the case is open you can take unobstructed shots at your convenience.
The front and back of the device are protected well when the device is closed. The case is somewhat flexible and yet it is impact resistant. It slides right into your shirt or pants pocket. It even fits nicely into a horizontal leather pouch I have.
I prefer a more heavy duty case like the Case-Mate TANK for every day use, which I'll comment on in another review, however when you're dressed up and want your device companion to match, the Signature Flip is the perfect choice.
I really like this case for its simplicity and elegance. The only caveat I have is that it is only available in black. While black pretty much goes with everything, a few more color choices would be ideal.
You can get your own Signature Flip Case from Case-Mate for 45.00. Check it out here.
