HOW TO: Simple Workaround For Backup Snags

If you're cruising through a backup and it freezes on a particular data base, giving you an error:

1. Write down the data base you encountered an error with
2. Exit back to DM Menu Screen
3. Select Backup
4. Advanced
5. Highlight the data base in which your previous attempt had gotten stuck
6. Clear button

Repeat the procedure as necessary for multiple errors, then proceed with backup

Security Concerns

Open Source enables the rapid and cost effective development of certain os and 3rd party features. It does, however, have it's security concerns. People are hacking into the bank accounts of Symbian users right now.
Apple, Android, and RIM are now associated with Open Source. How is Waterloo going to maintain the highest security standards in the industry, while having joined the crowd trying to grab a piece of the consumer market?

1. Select homepage Personal Email Setup icon (if BES), or otherwise log on to your carrier's site Here
2. Click on "edit" next to the email account you wish to modify.
3. Where "signature" is indicated, delete if you don't want a signature, or otherwise change to display
the new signature desired.
4. Save.

Trouble with Keyboard or Trackball? GPS? Bluetooth, Handset, or Headset audio levels, etc.? Your device can take a look at it's components and get back to you with a report.

1. Options
2. Status
3. Type the word Test
4. Menu button
5. Start

Check the appropriate category, select Run, and your handset will perform self-diagnostics.
To view a test report, on the Device Self Test Application screen:

Did you know that adding a contact's birthday or anniversary into your Address Book will automatically add it to your Calendar on a reoccurring basis with a reminder? Tip: then change default reminder to one week in order to have time to send cards and or acquire presents

HANDY TIP: How To Determine All Activity You've Had With A Contact

If you would like to review all phone, sms, and email communication that you've had with a contact that has not been deleted or has otherwise been saved:
1. Open Address Book
2. Highlight contact
3. Click Menu
4. Scroll to, and select Activity Log

Handy Tip For Bold Owners

As a matter of practicality, we're going back and forth between profiles depending upon the environment we're in.
For example, while in a business meeting or the theater, our handhelds are usually put on vibrate.
The 7xx series had a very handy time-saving short cut which enabled one to depress and hold the # button while exiting the theater or meeting, and your device would be restored to the previous profile.
RIM hasn't provided for this great feature on the 8x series, and...
