My recent upgrade from an 8130 (Verizon) to Bold (AT&T) still seems like a good move. I'm still enjoying the Bold. I've played with a few different OS's (.167 (AT&T stock), .190, .210, and .216), and have settled on .210 for now. I noticed that my signal appears to "bounce" a little more with the .210 (and .216), but I haven't really noticed a decrease in browsing speed. I haven't talked enough on it to make any kind of "dropped calls" determination. I wonder if the reason...

So Thursday, I ventured out to the AT&T store. Ended up dropping Verizon and my Pearl (the signal was spotty at my house - I think the tower is overloaded for the area) and signing up with AT&T and getting a Bold.

First thing that struck me was the screen looks great. It's exponentially better than my Pearl (as expected). Now I just have to scour the web for themes and backgrounds to load up on this and go through the hassle of trying to get all my app licenses switched over....

I've had this Verizon 8130 for a little over a year. Not a bad device overall, but the SureType thing is getting to be a pain in the rear. I'd really like a QWERTY device like the 8330 (if I stay with Verizon - not a foregone conclusion) or a Bold (because it has more memory than the 8110). I called Verizon and asked what it would take to get an 8330. They said it would take $420 (full retail price) unless I waited until July (where it's close enough they would allow me to upgrade).
